David saw the cardiologist last week. I took our video cam and filmed the ultrasound. He still has a VSD (ventricular septal defect) in his heart, otherwise known at a heart murmur or a hole in his heart. The VSD is located in the upper portion of the septal tissue which separates the left from right chambers. The hole is 3-4mm. Dr. Grady said he would do fine with a bone marrow transplant. Bone marrow transplants are potentially risky for the main organs, including the heart. We would love for his heart to close up before he undergoes a BMT (bone marrow transplant). Dear God, please give David a strong heart through all of the upcoming procedures.
