Light in a Tunnel for Unrelated Donors
Browsing around today, I found some light in a tunnel, just in the case we do not have an identical-sibling match. A well-known doctor by the name of Alexadra H. Filipovich in the Cincinnati Children's Hospital (she also reviewed and verified David's DNA report), did a study in 2001 that suggested it is possible younger children (under the age of 5) do have equivalent survival transplantation outcomes with unrelated donors. Very, very interesting!!! The Cincinnati Children's Hospital is the top hospital that deals with WAS patients and Dr. Filipovich is the Director of Immunodeficiency.
