Day 0 Live in the Moment

Today is the big day. Lizzie confirmed the transplant at 8pm. We cannot go outside any more even tho his white cells are still high. The doctor said it's tradition on Day 0 for patients to begin isolation b/c the cells may take a nose dive any moment. I'm all for traditions ;-) His hemoglobin was down to 8.4 (they like it above 10). He will not get a transfusion since he will already get a lot of liquids today. Platelets are doing fine.

Lizzie had some good advice, "Live in the moment." Try not to look ahead to the future. We all try to do the best we can ahead of time, now it's up to the cells to do the rest.

Tomorrow David will get a low dose of Campath (immunosuppressant that targets T-cells) and he will start a low dose of Methotrexate (which is like a chemo and block the metabolism of cells). He is eating ok today. I'll continue to do my best and pray. I'm not sure how his body will react to the drugs after transplant...What am I saying...it's so hard to live in the moment.

My family appreciates the stream of emails, notes and prayers. Thank you.

"Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." James 4:13-15

If the Lord wills, David shall live and be a man of God.

Aimee ~ It's just about 8 p.m. right now and we are both sending positive and loving thoughts David's way. I just KNOW he'll sail through this. I'll call tomorrow ~ Auntie V and Uncle D!

Aimee I am excited and nervous. God is with your son and I am sure it will eventually be even better than what the doctors can expect.

When we can commit our children into God's Hands for His Purpose, it is a very humbling moment.
May the moment stay with you and visit you often. Because in those moments, we understand God, Our Father, deeper than during other times in our lives.

vigora 100 mg is used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, thereby allowing the blood to flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited. It can also treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.
