+926 - Met more WAS Moms

David helped me make 42 bean (rice) bags today for Sports Day. He had so much fun filling the bags!

My dear friend and fellow WAS mom, Rosalind and her horse Boo and dog Ruffles.

My girls LOVED riding Boo!

I loved Ruffles but he is camera shy.

David loved Rosalind's white horse.

It took David a while to warm up.

He was a good helper too!

David came up with this idea to make a pinata for his papa. Inside was a hand-made book mark. As you can tell on David's face, the children loved doing this for Michael!

Michael is playing the game!

Through Facebook, I met two more families whose sons have WAS.

I was finally able to get the Protopic on Monday. It appears though that these topical ointments are just not working well. I just cannot seem to get a handle on the skin rash. We'll try the ointments for another three weeks and see what happens.

Hi Aimee,

My name is Jay Sivigny and I just discovered your Blog. My boy, Evan, was diagnosed with WAS back in August and we are on Day +61. I read many of the journal entries you posted and found your links extremely useful. I will pray for your son David. My boy is doing ok, ups and downs(as you know), but right now he is ok. We almost lost him to VOD, but he rallied and is doing better. Kids have extraordinary strength and we can only cherish each day we have with them. I wish you and your family well on your journey. Keep the faith. Jay Sivigny (Maryland, USA)

Aimee,
It has been way too long since I've been to this website, and I'm so sorry for the struggles David is continuing to have, and the stressful decisions you have been having to face! I'm so glad you are meeting other WAS moms, as no one can relate like someone who has walked in your shoes!

I wanted to let you know that the Ekstrands don't have a current website that they keep updated. I'm encouraging them to get one as I think it would be easier for them. They do have an old website, and it's http://web.mac.com/ekstrand/iWeb/Ekstrand%20Family/About%20Us.html but I think the last entry was 2006. You can e-mail me with any questions if you want. gamarley@sbcglobal.net

You are an amazing mom, and it's so good to see you have been able to spend time outdoors as a family, which I know you love! Please give all your children hugs for me!

Sending love and hugs,
Andrea Marley

P.S. Thanks for the warning about dogs! We got a puppy last year, and that's good to be aware of! Ugh!

P.P.S. "Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
