I had to take David to emergency at 3:00am this morning because he had a fever and some vomiting. He vomitted large mucus things, which makes me think his stomach got upset from the mucus he had along with the cold he's been fighting for two weeks. They said this white blood cell count is high which means there is an infection but they are not sure where the infection is in his body. They are looking at chest x-rays for pneumonia, blood cultures from his central lines, and urine samples. They will start him on a broad spectrum antibiotic (Ceftriaxone) until they pinpoint the infection which takes about 2 days. Since we've been here, his temp went down to normal without Tylenol. He's been sleeping and overall feeling bad. His hemoglobin is low so most likely he'll get a red blood cell transfusion. I think they will admit him to the children's hospital for a couple of days. I'm sure things will work out fine since he's in good hands at Stanford and in God's perfect hands. On a positive note, this infection is not related to graft-vs-host disease (GVHD) so he's not taken steps backwards in that regard.
Please pray for his body to fight the infection. Also, he needs strength and courage while they poke and prod him. He's been cooperative and easy going so far. Dr. Nicole, one of my favorite female doctors, said he's turning out to be such a gentleman.
Our other children are doing very well under the care of our nanny by day and Papa by night.

I just recieved word from Sue about David's early morning trip. Alex and I talked and he said he'll include David in his prayers tonight. That goes for all of us. We miss him very much and hope the next months go quickly and pleasantly.
