Three Cord Blood Matches

Stanford found three preliminary cord blood matches for David. They match perfectly to the HLA-type criteria, but the other criteria is not confirmed (male/female, blood type, and CMV). Most likely the cord blood is CMV negative, since it is brand new. Children pick up CMV in daycare, not as newborns. If we want to go the cord blood route, Stanford will look into the criteria more closely. The nurse said out of all their little guys who need BMTs, David has the most matches. Praise God for that information!
